West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum

The West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum was founded in 1994 under the auspices of the West Michigan Environmental Action Council (WMEAC). Their membership represents a broad cross-section of large area industries and small businesses dedicated to developing the expertise and the means necessary to achieve a triple bottom line objective. Through monthly meetings featuring guest speakers, periodic seminars and conferences, and special projects, the WMSBF strives to expand and share their unique knowledge base.

Grand Rapids Office of Energy and Sustainability

SustainableGR.com is the homepage for the City of Grand Rapids Office of Energy and Sustainability. It highlights the latest sustainability news for the Grand Rapids area, progress on sustainable initiatives undertaken by the City, describes the awards that the City has received, and updates residents on the City’s energy and sustainability programs.

Center for Sustainability at Aquinas College

The Center for Sustainability (C4S) at Aquinas College promotes principles and practices that restore our environment, foster economic prosperity, and build vibrant and healthy communities. Established in 2005 as a community resource, C4S has been building networks and partnerships between local businesses, students and faculty to support learning for sustainability.

USGBC – West Michigan Chapter

The USGBC is leading a national initiative to produce a new generation of high performance buildings both inside and out. Council members work together to develop LEED® products and resources, the Greenbuild annual International Conference and Expo, policy guidance, and educational and marketing tools that support the adoption of sustainable building practices.

GVSU Office of Sustainability Practices

The Office of Sustainability Practices at Grand Valley State University provides administration, faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders with the required skills and capabilities to become better stewards and responsible global citizens in the workforce, communities, and family life.

Local First

Local First is a nonprofit organization located in West Michigan whose mission is to support locally-owned businesses, farms, and community groups through a variety of initiatives focused on the Triple Bottom Line. They are working to create an educated population who knows they have a choice when spending their dollars.

WMEAC

West Michigan Environmental Action Council has been West Michigan’s preeminent resource for environmental education and advocacy since 1968. Founded by a diverse group of concerned citizens and organizational stakeholders, WMEAC is a non-profit, 501C3 organization uniquely positioned to respond to emerging issues and new threats to West Michigan’s natural and human ecologies, strategically focused on building sustainable communities and protecting water resources.
