ABOUT THE CSP
The Grand Rapids Area Community Sustainability Partnership is a diverse network of for-profit and non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and governments in West Michigan who embrace and support sustainability in their planning and operations and are striving to make a positive impact in our community. Members of the Community Sustainability Partnership (CSP) are committed to work together to restore environmental integrity, improve economic prosperity, and promote social equity, or the “triple bottom line.”
Since its inception, the CSP has grown from just five founding partners to more than 270 for-profit and non-profit organizations, education institutions and governments.

Although Grand Rapids, Michigan, was the first to initiate a Community Sustainability Partnership, there are now many others across Michigan and nation-wide that have started their own networks focused on the triple bottom line of sustainability.
The Grand Rapids Area CSP, along with the City of Grand Rapids have the honor of being jointly designated a United Nations University Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE). RCEs “aspire to achieve the goals of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD, 2005-2014), by translating its global objectives into the context of the local communities in which they operate.”
